TONITE! JT Hooker LIVE on Hollow Hill
My pal JT Hooker will be showcasing some of the best of Seattle's queer music, as well as international hetero(flexible) artists... digging deep into crates of decades-past, as well as unleashing exclusive tracks with artist commentary. Discussions will be had around Seattle's neighborhoods / gentrification / and lots more...
Rumor has it he has also received another exclusive track, this time from local artist f/fauna (aka Brian Humrichouser, who also directed Jackie Hell's WHORE film earlier this year)!! There **might** also be very special LIVE on air performances and surprises (cross your fingers + your toes)!!!
Tune in here at 8PM sharp:

Big Freedia (Pronounced “Free-da”) is the undisputed “Queen Diva” of Bounce Music and performs 6 or more times per week in her hometown of New Orleans.
Bounce Music is an original urban music rising up from the intimate and fun-loving nature of the New Orleans housing projects which dominate the city's street culture, and Freedia performs a derivative of Bounce reserved for self-proclaimed "Sissies" (a locally used name for birth-assigned males with varied and ambiguous sexual identities) that has risen to prominence in recent years and features explicitly gay and cross-dressing musicians and themes. Big Freedia, like other "Sissy" artists, has achieved mainstream success with several New Orleans hit singles such as "Gin in My System" and "Azz Everywhere!" from her albums "An Ha, Oh Yeah" (1999) and "Queen Diva" (2003). Since 2009 Freedia has been traveling regularly with her dancers and live DJ, Rusty Lazer, playing to audiences on the East and West Coast alongside (or onstage with) artists such as Spank Rock, Ninjasonik, Japanther, Monique and many more. Big Freedia is currently at work on her third album.
LICK’s very own Dewey Decimal and Hard Times resident L.A. Kendall are slated to open the show.
THIS WILL ALSO BE THE RELEASE PARTY FOR HARD TIMES PRESS ISSUE #6!!! Come to the show and grab your copy!!!
FRIDAY 12.10.2010 - Lezbro @ Wildrose (1021 E Pike St, Seattle)
Lezbro, every 2nd Friday!!!DJ’s L.A. Kendall & Tony Burns team up to bring you LEZBRO, at The Wildrose (1021 E. Pike St., Seattle). LEZBRO is a night for fag hags (ladies that love themselves some gay boys), dyke tykes (guys that pal around with ladies who love ladies) & fruit-flies (straight people that like to hang with the queers)! In short COME AS YOU ARE! Everyone is welcome! The dance floor will be flooded with all kinds of jams – Hip Hop, 80’s, Old School, 90’s, Freestyle, House Classics, Electro remixes. There’s something for all! At Lezbro, you might even occasionally find some random, spontaneous performances by local queer artists. Anything goes!
This month’s installment of LEZBRO features a special performance by Seattle’s own Sydni Deveraux!!!
The Wildrose is offering a super economical (and by that, we mean CHEAP) cover charge – a mere $3, as well as some incredibly unbelievable drink specials (varies from night to night). This makes Lezbro hard to pass up! So come early for your pre-funk, stumble in late for your wrap-up, or stay all night and don’t miss a thing – but GET THERE!
That's about it for now friends! Be on the lookout for my long overdue package piece from Palm Springs! Coming THIS WEEK! Oh yeah!
