Wrappin' Up The Year! Highlight Reel!

There's only a few days left in 2010, and to be quite honest, I will be glad to see it go. It's been a great year, lots of great things happened and tons of awesome experiences were shared with people that I really appreciate, new doors were opened, old family connections renewed, I churned out more music than I have in a decade, and in the end, I find myself surrounded by family and friends that I am entirely grateful for. It's been a tough year too in many ways. Projects I put my heart and soul into didn't turn out the way I had hoped, had to close the chapter on some relationships that were frankly toxic, bid good-bye to my Grandma Maxine (which was harder than I had expected), the republicans took back the house, oil spilled in the gulf, and Sarah Palin has her own reality show. This year has been like most things in life. Good and bad. Sweet and Sour. Hot and cold.

This week I am spending lots of time thinking about what's important to me moving forward in 2010. Surrounding myself with quality people, working smarter not harder, continue to be more conscious of health issues, yada yada yada. I definitely want to focus on achieving. Mentally, physically and spritually. We'll see how that all goes! I definitely think I am on the right track!

When I look back on some of the shows I have produced, performed at, or supported this year, I remember that it's been quite a ride. Through Qulture Qreative (my partnership with David D$ Richey), Hard Times (another partnership with David D$ Richey, what can I say, I love the guy!), Luxury A.K., Lezbro, Sammy LaForge - I've shared enjoyed some amazing moments in 2010. Here are just a few of the highlights:

Oooh - and download this for your NYE prefunk all week leading up to friday! It's me and Tony B, LIVE, from Girl4Girl earlier in December! HAWT!

I'm sure there are moments I am missing. Give grandma a break kids. I can't remember EVERYTHING (but whatever I am not remembering was precious and special to me also. Promise.)!

So, this week as I reflect and prepare for the beginning of a whole new year (GO ME!), I also prepare to finish off the year with two AWESOME gigs on New Years Eve, and YOU SHOULD GO! Come see 2010 off and welcome 2011 in with me...Here are the details...

Kick off your new years right at:
Fringe New Years Eve @ The Eagle (Seattle)

Then, be with the Lezbro posse as we kick drop the ball (and I will be dropping a few tracks I haven't performed out live yet!)
Wildrose New Years Eve @ The Wildrose (Seattle)

....this NYE also marks the 2 year anniversary of the very first date I went on with my gingerlady! Happy 2 years to the best partner a gal could possibly have!

That's it for now kids! If I don't see ya on New Years Eve, HAVE FUN, BE SAFE, DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE (trust me, it's not worth it!), and be good to eachother! I swear it'll make you happy!

HAPPY HOLIGAYS!

HAPPY HOLIGAYS!!!

I am so busy wrapping up the end of the year, preparing for the holidays, and keeping my watchful eye on the gingerboy, I haven't had much time to write a blog post of any substance. Though there is SO MUCH on my mind. Don't Ask Don't Tell being repealed, Teenage moms on reality TV, The first responders being ignored, Wikileaks and Julian Assange...but alas, I haven't the time to organize my thoughts. So instead, I assembled some of my favorite, mindless, funny Christmas videos for your enjoyment! May my gift to you be a smile that one of these puts on your face!

P.S. - If you are thinkin' 'bout what to do on NYE, come see me! I will be playing with my boy Tony Burns at Fringe at The Eagle, and also at The Wildrose! Will post more details about this next week!

Delirious Blogging From Beyond The Bedroom Door

Harumph! I sit here blogging from the warmth of my bed. Sick as a dog. Thanks to all my Facebook friends for the advice. I am absolutely delirious from trying different variations of said advice. Maybe I should have taken it one at a time....now there's an idea.... Naw! Go big or go home the Ginger Girl always says, and I wanna kick this outta my system! Stat!

So, in my delirium, I thought I would share a few random thoughts I have been mulling over.

First being - has anyone seen the new Buttry Brown? If not, check it out....Ade is absolutely genius. Can't get enough...

Next up, my boy Sammy LaForge has a new night at Neighbours...

Now, I can hear all of you rolling your eyes at the mention of Neighbours, but I swear, they are going in the right direction if they are having Sammy and his Fluffers set up residency there on Wednesday nights in the form of Spin - Electro House Cabaret. Next chance you get, go show my man some love! I guarantee you won't regret it!

If Wednesdays aren't your thing, or if ya do every night of the week (you warrior you!), you should also check out the lovely and talented DJ Skiddle's night at Chapel. Grime is now a weekly, every Friday. Skiddle brings in guests, ignites the tables on his own, switches it up so it's always fresh! There's even a rumor that myself and Sammy may be appearing together the third Friday in January. Check it out...

...and in case you missed it the first time around, here's the mix from last Saturday when Tony Burns and I brought down the hizzy at Girl4Girl. Totally downloadable too peeps! Listen to it, love it, and brace yourselves....there's a part 2 of this out there somewhere 'bout to drop real soon!

L.A. Kendall & Tony Burns - G4G Pt. 1 by Tony Burns

Well kids, I think that's about it for now. It's time for another Toddy laced with Nyquil, and a pound of raw ginger. Something's gotta work on this cold/flu combo!

Stay warm, healthy and safe! Until next time....

I Am A Terrible Friend!!

Oh My Gawwwwd!

In all of the hullabaloo talkin' 'bout all the crazy things I did last week, I completely forgot to mention the one thing I DIDN'T DO! Which was one of the most important things on my list for last week. .....and I totally missed it, and let down a friend that I love and care about. For that, I am sorry. My friend Dustin Curtis, Mr. Chanel to those about town, was celebrating his 23rd birthday (AGAIN) at Pony (his second home) this last Sunday. Due to the fact that I am fast approaching Grandma status, me and mine decided to lay down and get some rest before heading out for a night of merriment, ode to Mr. Chanel. Well folks, sometimes shit happens. This time, the shit happened in the form of sleeping through not 1, but two alarms that we had set. I myself woke up at 4am....long after the bar had closed. Gimme a break! It'd been a long week, and like I said, Grandma was tired!

Needless to say, I have tons of spoiling and making up to do...and I plan on it! Starting now. Dustin, this one's for you my friend!

I think exposing an embarrasing moment should go towards payback, don't you?!?!

Last Week Was Insane! Let Ya Tell Me About It!

Wow kids! Last week was one of those weeks where you barely have a second to breathe! But I loved every minute of it!

First off, Monday was Another Wasted Christmas Party at Re-bar, hosted by the amazing artStar, and the incredible Still Drunk Paul (one of my favorite peeps), and MC'd by my Luxury AK sister, Adraboo. There were a ton of amazing performances (Ade, Lisa Dank, House Of Charlatan, JT Hooker on visuals, Tony Burns, Nark, DJ Skiddle and more), including one that I did with Sammy LaForge. SO MUCH FUN! Here are a few pics my lovely Ginger Girl snapped:

...and if the pics have piqued your interest, you might enjoy these videos of the show Sammy and I did that sexy go go Josh shot for the Hard Times You Tube Channel.

Wednesday night I dropped an all Vinyl set with none other that one of my original crew, way back from hotbox and hitgirl! collective days, Seattle House Music royalty, Julie Herrera. It was magical! Love playing with that girl. Even after nearly a year without workin' the wax, she can still bring the heat! I hear we may have a Flammable in her future.....will keep you posted on what shakes out as soon as I hear!

Thursday night....well, that was the night of the Big Freedia show. If you have not ever seen Big Freedia, you need to spend some time on the interwebs, the google, and the you tubes and familiarize yourself. The show was frickin' INSANE. There literally was AZZ everywhere. Here's some pics:

...and Josh got some video of that show too:

It was mindblowing. Big Freedia is my new BFF...you may even see something in the March issue of Hard Times Press about her! Until then, please do us all a favor and study the religion of Freedia before her next Seattle appearance, and then get yer cheap lazy ass there!

Friday night, was, of course, Lezbro. My collab with the sweet-ass Tony Burns at Wildrose. Man I love doing this night! It's hella fun, and we just have a good time with it. We absolutely force the lesbians to accept more than Hip Hop. With some resistance of course, like the crazy blond 40 something that swore to the bartenders she tipped us $30 to play Eminem (damned if there wasn't $9 in the tip jar at the end of the night, mmmm hmmmm). Anyway, our special guest was Sydni Devereaux. She did a number to "Fat Bottom Girls" complete with sexy ass southern style daisy dukes, a grill, and chewed up and spewed cheeseburgers! My sister and cousin who drove up all the way from Oly had a good time watchin' burlesque at the "alternative" bar. Shit, everyone had a good time. My favorite part of the night was when Sydni described that there was all sorts of technology associated with burlesque. Cheeseburger technology, pastie technology, man, it blew my mind!

Saturday night, Tony Burns and I were called in to pinch hit for a DJ that had cancelled for Girl4Girl. Now, people, I must tell you, Girl4Girl is a totally different experience these days. They've stepped it up quite a bit. The venue (Club Sur in SODO) is freakin' swanky. Hands down one of the most gorgeous and versatile spots in town. In general, you should go there for anything that interests you. Lezzies and those who love them, you should ALWAYS go when you can. Michelle, who was the original owner, has come back to the helm. It's revamped folks. My favorite part? Michelle asked us to play house and electro. PROGRESSIVE MUSIC. For lesbians? Yep, that's what she wanted. Love those who are willing to buck the grain. That's how things get done folks. Can't live in hip hop ville forevah! Anyway, Tony and I dropped a HOT set, which you can listen to by clicking here! It's up for a FREE Download! So download it, bump it in your car, enjoy!
...and here's a lovely pic with ass all up in my face.

This is what you can expect when you come to Girl4Girl. Great ass in the face. I'm tellin' ya, you need to make it happen! I will be playing again on January 8th. Mark your calendars NOW!

That's about it for tonite folks! I gotta take off my seattle nightlife maven hat, put my suburban housewife cape back on and pick up the wife from work, and entertain the ginger-boy a bit. There'll be more soon, I promise. ....and I never break my promises!

2. Did anyone see this? Poor Susan Boyle....

3. VAIN LOVES VERA!
My good friend Victoria Gentry, proprietor of VAIN boutique salons here in Seattle, as well as kick ass activist and supporter of all things good, dropped me a little note last week. Evidently, VAIN produced a calendar to benefit their favorite youth powered music and arts venue - The Vera Project! The calendar is a 12 month tribute to the history and hairstyles of music, on sale for $14.95 with all proceeds going to Vera. It is available at locations around Seattle including Easy Street Records, Sonic Boom, Pretty Parlor, Smarty Pants, VAIN and on The Vera Project website. Click here to read all about it! Click here to buy it!

That's it for now kids! Gotta go pack my crates, organize my music, download some new tracks, and whip up dinner for the gingerboy...and I can only expect to hold your attention for so long without some packages to peep at - you dirty birds!

The Packages Of Palm Springs

Hello! As promised, here is my piece (finally) on “packages” that I have been talking about since early November during all that Palm Springs madness. Forgive me for stringing you along for so long folks. It’s been a blur of activity since I got back (gigs! snow! holidays!), and I have just now had the time to give these packages the focus that they deserve!

ANYWAY, if you’ve seen the pictures from our parties at The Ace Hotel over Gay Pride in Palm Springs, you know that during the days by the pool, it was a massive sea of gay boys. Not just any massive sea of gay boys, but a sea of gay boys in various states of undress. All sporting their own style (speedo? Classic brief? Ladies Bikini Bottoms? Cut offs? Granimals?). It was certainly a sight to behold! Now, I not being a fan of the peen (though I love many who have them!), haven’t ever really given boys “packages” that much thought (but if ya wanna talk tits, I’m your gal!). However, while we were in the springs, everywhere you looked – BAM! Another package! Frankly, I found them all fascinating! All sorts of sizes and shapes….some seemed to be standing at attention, and others….where were they?!?!

During my countless hours poolside (I was actually, eh hem, working), I had many conversations with friends and acquaintences about said packages and found out there is a whole world of fashion, accessories, and “package” enhancing accoutrements. Who knew?!?! I certainly didn’t! Color me enlightened! Upon my return, I was recapping my adventures with friends, and my good pal DJ Skiddle offered to give his gay boys two cents on this “package” business. I think he just wanted to peep the packages I was referring to, but here’s what he had to say:

Straight from Skiddle:
I think #1, #6, and #10 have the right idea: stripes. They draw attention to the package AND show off the contours of a "peen" nicely. It's a win-win. Notice how #1 uses horizontal stripes to emphasize his droop (Need a hand with that, Son?). #6 went the other direction with veritcals (Looking to accessorize? Wear a tie next time. Suits are all the rage in porn this season). #10 went both ways, sporting not just plaid, but pink plaid. My therapist might have a few things to say about that, but I have just one: YUM. Overall, we have a lovely cross-selection of packages here. The key to a hot package (besides the obvious) is good support, bright colors and bold patterns. (There, I wrote for your blog, Kendall. NOW can I have #3's phone number!?!?!)

Thanks for the input Skiddle! I'll get right on getting that number for you!

So folks....thoughts? I know y'all have something to say! Also, the collage above features some of the cream of the crop of Seattle's nightlife scene. If you think you can match the men with the peens, e mail me at lakendall@hitgirl.net! If you guess them all correctly, I will send you a care package via the good ol' U.S. Mail full of DJ mixes, exclusive releases, swag, and whatever else I can scare up for ya! Let's call it: The Package Challenge!

Damn, I wish I was still in Palm Springs....FOR THE SUN KIDS! Get yer minds outta the gutter already!

P.S. Special thanks to my favorite Ginger Girl for putting that collage together!
