1 Awesome Day Down, 2 Amazing More Days To Go! P.S. I Love You!

Well, it's Saturday now and I find myself sitting poolside at the newly remodeled Alcazar. We're on to the 2nd day of events here in Palm Springs and, man, it's been a crazy ride.

Yesterday we started our day with a freak rainstorm, which obviously hampered anything we had going on poolside. However, our evening event, a Hard Times Palm Springs Pride Style soiree (held at Birba, the restaurant/nightlife destination on this amazing property we are holding Compound at), which we feared might be affected by the earlier rain and the dropping temperature, went off without a hitch! I think it helped that the party was full of Seattle-ites and Portland-ers. A little chill in the air doesn't keep us from the party! We're used to it! I started off the evening with a Chicago style house set, then Blue Eyed Soul (SEA) jumped on the decks for a little mix of all kinds of marvelous jams, then DJ's Roy G Biv & Mr Charming (PDX) took the helm for the duration, keeping people boppin' right up to last call.

Throughout the event, there were some seriously amazing performances, by Perms (aka Gina Young's new project). OMG. My jaw was dropping within 15 seconds of this performance. Full disclosure, I love Gina Young. So anything she does, in my eyes, is amazing. The girl walks on water as far as I'm concerned. However, this new project, and these super fun gals she's working it out with. Well, all I can say is....DAMN! SO Good. There'll be video up on the Hard Times Press You Tube soon!

After Perms slayed it, it was back to Blue Eyed Soul for about 30 minutes and then Purple Crush went on. Now, we hadn't originally booked Purple Crush. They were a happy little accident. I had booked them to play Lezbro last month in Seattle and they were a hit there. They contacted me a few days before we left Seattle wanting to jump in on the bill. You know how Hard Times rolls girl - the more the merrier. They were great. Just like in Seattle, but better! Again, there'll be some video available, soon, but for now, I am hoping these pics will satiate you!

There were so many awesome performances, so much fun people watching, Phyliss Navidad, as usual, turned that this out just by walking in the room. Girl looked fierce. It might have crossed my mind to make a pass! Naw, jus' playin'. But she was hot. Proof?

Yep. Like I said!

Tonight the bill includes Victor Rodriguez, Lady Bear, Phylliss Navididad, Susan in Accounting and Cazwell. Who we also have to run around for soundchecks and such as he's also playing the citywide Block Party earlier in the evening. YES PLEASE! Someone bring me a vodka redbull!

Wish you were here!
